Operations Menu - Create Object

You can use this function to create a record in the Object register (in the System module and Nominal Ledger). By default, the Object Code will be the same as the Project Code and the Object Name will be the same as the Project Description. It can be useful to create a new Object dedicated to a particular Project so that its costs and revenue can easily be analysed in the Nominal Ledger. This function will be especially useful if you are using the Project Code the same as Object Code option in the Project Settings setting.

When the function is selected, the following screen appears, by which a new Object can be created:

A new record is opened in a window entitled 'Object: New'. This means that it has not yet been saved. After amendment if necessary, save the record in the Object register by clicking the [Save] button in the Button Bar. Alternatively, if you no longer require the Object, click [Cancel]. In either case, you will be returned to the Project window. If you saved the Object, the Object Code of the new Object will be added to the Objects listed in the field on the 'Terms' card.

The Project does not have to be saved before creating an Object.
