Operations Menu - Split Row

For Items with Serial Numbers at the Unit level, if the Order Quantity is greater than 1, the Delivery will contain an appropriate number of separate rows each with a Quantity of one to allow you to enter Serial Numbers individually. On returning to the Order, only the Serial Number of the last Item will be visible.

In the case of Items requiring Serial Numbers at the Batch level, the Delivery will only contain a single row with the quantity copied from the Sales Order. You can enter a single Serial/Batch Number, providing you have a sufficient quantity in stock with that Serial Number. If this is not the case, you will be told there is insufficient stock when you try to save the Delivery. You can then use this function to divide the row into two, and then enter a second Serial Number in the new row. The 'Split Row' function will ensure that both Delivery rows remain connected to the originating Sales Order row, so the Delivered Quantities in that row will be correct.

You can also use this function instead of 'Refill Batch No. Items', if you are not using the Automatically set Batch Serial Number on Delivery option in the Stock Settings setting. To use the same example as was used in the description of the 'Refill Batch No. Items' function, you have in stock a batch of ten Items with Serial Number 1 and a batch of ten with Serial Number 2. You receive an Order for eight. When you create the Delivery, it will contain one row with a Delivery Quantity of eight and, if you are using the Automatically set Batch Serial Number on Delivery option, Serial Number 1 will be brought in automatically. If you are not using this option, there will be no default Serial Number, but you can enter Serial Number 1 yourself using 'Paste Special' from the Serial Number field. This Delivery is left unapproved and you then receive a second Order for three. The resulting second Delivery will contain one row with a Delivery Quantity of three. Again, depending on the Automatically set Batch Serial Number on Delivery option, Serial Number 1 will be brought in automatically or you can enter it yourself. If you approve one of these Deliveries, the other will become incorrect. For example, if you approve the first Delivery, you will only have two items with Serial Number 1 left. So, when you come to approve the second Delivery, you will be warned that you have insufficient stock. You can then apply this function. The Delivery Quantity of the first row will be changed to two, and a second row will be added, with a Delivery Quantity of one. This function will not bring a default Serial Number in to the new row, so you will need to choose Serial Number 2 yourself using 'Paste Special'.

As with 'Refill Batch No. Items', you must place the cursor in the row with the incorrect Serial Number. So, in a large Delivery, you may need to use this function several times.
If the function appears to have no effect, the probable reason is that you have not removed the check from the OK box.
