Sales Per Hour

The Sales Per Hour report is a simple list showing the volume of sales in each hour of a specified day or days. It will therefore be most useful in POS and Restaurant environments.

For each hour in the specified day or days, the default version of the report lists the total sales values excluding and including VAT, the total VAT value, the numbers of Invoices and Credit Notes and the average sales value including VAT per Invoice. The figures will be compiled from Invoices, POS Invoices and Bar Tabs (POS Invoices and Bar Tabs will be included in the number of Invoices figure).

Invoice No.
Range Reporting    Numeric

Enter an Invoice Number or a range of Numbers separated by a colon (:) here if you would like statistics compiled from specific Invoices to be shown in the report.

Note that the report is compiled from Invoices, POS Invoices and Bar Tabs. If you have Invoices, POS Invoices and Bar Tabs with Invoice Numbers that match your entry in this field, then they all will be included in the report (depending on the Invoice Type options below).

Period
Paste Special    Reporting Periods setting, System module
Specify the report period. The default period is the current day, but you can specify a longer period if necessary. The report will display hourly sales statistics for each day in the period, compiled from Invoices, POS Invoices and Bar Tabs.

Customer
Paste Special    Customers in Contact register

Range Reporting    Alpha
If you need the report to display statistics from sales to a particular Customer, enter their Customer Number here. You can also enter a range of Customers separated by a colon (:).

Customer Category
Paste Special    Customer Categories setting, Sales Ledger
If you need the report to display statistics from sales to Customers belonging to a particular Customer Category, enter that Customer Category here.

Classification Types
Paste Special    Classification Types setting, CRM module (if installed)
Enter a Classification Type in this field if you want the report to display statistics from sales to Customers with Classifications belonging to that Type. If you enter a number of Classification Types separated by commas, sales to Customers with a Classification belonging to any of the Types listed will be included in the figures.

Customer Classification
Paste Special    Contact Classifications setting, CRM module (if installed)
Enter a Classification Code in this field if you want the report to display statistics from sales to Customers with a certain Classification. If you enter a number of Classifications separated by commas, only sales to those Customers featuring all the Classifications listed will be included in the figures.

Salesman
Paste Special    Person register, System module
Enter a Person's Signature in this field if you want the report to display statistics from sales made by that Person as Salesman (Invoices and POS Invoices) or Waiter (Bar Tabs).

This refers to Salesmen entered at Invoice level, not those entered for Invoice rows.

You can also specify a number of Salesmen separated by commas, in which case the statistics shown in the report will be calculated from Invoices featuring all the Salesmen listed. For example, if you enter Salesman A, the report will display statistics calculated from Invoices for Salesman A, Salesmen A,B and Salesmen A,B,C. But if you enter Salesmen A,B, the calculations will not include the Invoices for Salesman A.

Branch
Paste Special    Customers in Contact register
Specify a Branch if you want the figures in the report to be calculated from Invoices, POS Invoices and Bar Tabs featuring that Branch. This will be useful if your company has several Branches (e.g. several shops): the Branch where each transaction was created will automatically be recorded (for example, on the 'Del. Terms' card of the Invoice window), taken from the Local Machine setting in the User Settings module.

Bar Tab Class
Paste Special    Bar Tab Classes setting, Restaurant module
Specify a Bar Tab Class if you would like the figures in the report to be calculated from Bar Tabs featuring that Class. If you specify a Bar Tab Class in the Local Machine setting in the User Settings module on a particular computer or till, it will be copied to all Bar Tabs created on that machine. If you want waiters to be able to change the Class in a particular Bar Tab, add a "Set Tab Class" button to the Bar Tab window.

If you specify a Bar Class here, all Invoices and POS Invoices will also be included in the report unless you exclude them using the Invoice Type options below.

Location
Paste Special    Locations setting Stock module
This field allows you to restrict the report to Invoices, POS Invoices and Bar Tabs that took their stock from a particular Location. In the case of Invoices, this refers to the Location at Invoice level (shown on the 'Del. Terms' card of each Invoice), not those in the Invoice rows.

Payment Term
Paste Special    Payment Terms setting, Sales/Purchase Ledger
Enter a Payment Term here if you would like the statistics in the report to be compiled from Invoices, POS Invoices and Bar Tabs with that Payment Term.

Invoice Type
Use these options to choose the types of Invoices that should be included in the report.

Status
Use these options to specify whether Invoices that have been marked as OK, Invoices that have not been marked as OK or both should be included in the report. In the case of POS Invoices and Bar Tabs, these options will include or exclude records that have been marked as Finished.

Summary
By default, the report will be sorted by date and then by hour. For example, if the report period is 1 June - 2 June, the report will give an hourly breakdown of the sales on 1 June, followed by an hourly breakdown of the sales on 2 June.

If you choose the Summary option will simply be sorted by hour, with the hourly sales from each day being added together. For example, the report will display a single figure resulting from adding the sales for 1 June between 11:00 and 12:00 to the sales for 2 June from the same time. This can help you ascertain the most and least successful times of day.

Show No. of Inv. Rows
This option will add two extra columns to the report showing total and average numbers of invoice rows for each time period.
