Report Settings

This page describes the Report Settings setting in the Nominal Ledger.

---

Five of the reports in the Nominal Ledger are reports that you can design yourself. Designing a report includes specifying the Accounts that will be used in the calculations as well as changing the appearance and format of the report. The design of a report is known as the "definition" of the report in Standard ERP. The reports for which this facility is available are the Balance Sheet, Cash Flow report, Key Financial Ratios, Profit & Loss Report and VAT Report. As well as designing these reports yourself, you can create as many versions of each report as you need.

You will use the Report Settings setting in the Nominal Ledger to change the definition of a report and to add a new report definition. To use this setting, ensure you are in the Nominal Ledger and click (Windows/macOS) or tap (iOS/Android) the [Settings] button in the Navigation Centre. Then, double-click or tap 'Report Settings' in the subsequent list. The 'Report Settings' window will open.

To change the definition of a report, highlight the report name in the list on the left-hand side of the window and click or tap the [Definition] button. Please refer to the pages describing the Balance Sheet, Cash Flow report, Key Financial Ratios, Profit & Loss Report and VAT Report definitions for details about defining these reports and about creating new report definitions.

You can only use the [Definition] button with the five reports named above. You can use the remaining three buttons with every report, in every module. If you change to another module using the [Switch Module] button in the Navigation Centre in the usual way, the list of reports on the left-hand side of the 'Report Settings' window will change appropriately. Highlight a report in the list and then click or tap a button, as described below.

When you have finished working with the 'Report Settings' window, close it by clicking the close box.

Page Setup, Remove Page Setup
The [Page Setup] button allows you to set the page size, number of copies and other printer options for the highlighted report. These settings will be used whenever you print the report. Windows users can also use this function to choose the printer on which the report is to be printed.

You can also specify the Page Setup of a report by highlighting it in the 'Reports' list and selecting 'Page Setup' from the File menu.

Click the [Remove Page Setup] button to revert to the standard settings.

Select Printer
If you are using macOS, use the [Select Printer] button to re-direct the output of the highlighted report to the modem port, to which you can connect a serial (PC) printer (e.g. a dot matrix printer for printing on pre-printed stock of pin-feed paper).
