Newsfeed and Blog Content (The Content Register) - Content Categories

You can divide news items and blog posts into categories. This will allow you to display them sorted by category in the newsfeed listing with the categories as sub-headings. This feature is only supported by the "Content Handler App" page, not by the "Content List" Element.

Follow these steps:

  1. Enter the categories in the Content Categories setting:

If necessary, add translations of Comment in the matrix. The appropriate translation will be displayed, depending on the language chosen by the browser user.

  2. Assign each record in the Content register to a category:

  3. If you need the newsfeed listing to be sorted by category with the categories as sub-headings, select the Group Lists by Category option in the Content Style record that is connected to the Content record:

The category headings will be displayed as <h1> headings. If you would like to assign a class to these headings, use the Category Header Class field.
This is the result in a browser:

The order in which the categories will be listed will be determined by the Sorting options in the Content Style record, as follows:
Newest First
The categories will be listed in reverse alphabetical order by Code.

Alphabetically
The categories will be listed in alphabetical order by Code.
Within each category, the news items will also be listed in the order determined by the Sorting options.

If you have not assigned a Content record to a category or you have not specified a Comment in the relevant Content Category record, that Content record will appear under the heading "Other" in the newsfeed listing. "Other" is Web Text 25300.
