Finish

Function
Prints, marks as OK and closes the Bar Tab, and opens a new Bar Tab. If the Bar Tab was assigned to a Table, the Table will be made available to be re-assigned.

Requirements
The Bar Tab must be fully paid.

Finishing a Bar Tab will cause a receipt to be printed using the Bar Tab Receipt form on a conventional printer (i.e. not a receipt printer or a fiscal printer). A printer must be connected to the till or device, and you must have assigned a Form Template to the Bar Tab Receipt form. If an Epson TM-U210 receipt printer is connected to the till, the Bar Tab will also be printed on that printer and the printer's cash drawer (if configured) will also be opened.

If the Customer is one in which the Fiscal Invoices Only check box has been ticked, the Bar Tab will not be printed as described above and instead will be printed on a fiscal printer.

Workflow
  1. When a Bar Tab is complete (including payment), click or touch the "Finish" button.

  2. The Bar Tab will be printed, saved and closed, and a new one opened, ready for the next Customer.

  3. If you needed to give change to the previous Customer, the amount will be shown in the new Bar Tab as a reminder until you start adding Items.

Finish and Print

Function
Similar to the "Finish" button described above, but will print a Bar Tab form (with a "Copy" watermark) after printing the Bar Tab Receipt or after being printed on the fiscal printer. You will therefore need to assign a Form Template to the Bar Tab form as well as to the Bar Tab Receipt form.

Invalidate Tab

Function
Invalidates or voids a Bar Tab.

Requirements
Requires a supervisor to log in: can only be used by a waiter, member of bar staff or supervisor whose Access Group gives access to the 'Invalidate Bar Tab' Action.

Workflow
  1. Click or touch the "Invalidate" button.

  2. If the waiter or member of bar staff does not have the necessary access right, the 'Login' window will appear, allowing a supervisor to log in.

  3. The Bar Tab will be saved in an invalidated state and closed, and a new empty Bar Tab opened, allowing the waiter or member of bar staff to enter the next Bar Tab. Any associated Kitchen Orders and Activities will be invalidated as well.

  4. Control of the till will be passed back to the waiter or member of bar staff.

Notes
You can use the "All Tabs" button to open a previous Bar Tab that has already been finished and then invalidate that Invoice. However you cannot invalidate a previous finished Bar Tab if it has been included in a POS Balance record (i.e. if it has been posted to the Nominal Ledger).

An invalidated Bar Tab is easily distinguished because all fields have red lines drawn through them. These red lines are also shown in the 'Bar Tabs: Browse' window.

Print Preview

Function
Prints an on-screen preview of a Bar Tab using the Bar Tab form.

Workflow
  1. Click or touch the "Print Preview" button. A preview of the Bar Tab will be printed on screen.

  2. As usual, you can use the Printer icon at the top of the 'Preview' window to print the document on a printer.

  3. Close the 'Preview' window by clicking or touching the close box.

Note
If you press the "Print Preview" button in a Bar Tab before you have saved the Bar Tab for the first time, the Bar Tab will be saved before it is previewed.

Print Tab, Print Invoice

Function
Prints or reprints a Bar Tab. using the Bar Tab form

Requirements
If you will use the "Print Tab" button to reprint finished Bar Tabs, you should also add an "All Tabs" button to allow a waiter or member of bar staff to find the finished Bar Tab that is to be reprinted.

Workflow
Click or touch the "Print Tab" button. The Bar Tab will be printed.

Notes
The "Print Tab" button will print Bar Tabs on a conventional printer (i.e. not a receipt printer or a fiscal printer) using the Form Template that you have assigned to the Bar Tab form. If you need to be able to reprint Bar Tabs on an Epson TM-U210 receipt printer, use the "Print Tab to Receipt Printer" button described below.

If you use the "Print Tab" button to print a Bar Tab before it has been finished, the printed Bar Tab will include a "Test Printout" watermark. If you reprint a finished Bar Tab, the printed Bar Tab will include a "Copy" watermark.

If you press the "Print Tab" button in a Bar Tab before you have saved the Bar Tab for the first time, the Bar Tab will be saved before it is printed.

Print Tab to Kitchen

Function
Prints or reprints a Bar Tab using the Bar Tab Kitchen Order form and creates a Kitchen Order for the Items on the Bar Tab that were printed. A reprint will only print Items that have not previously been printed.

Requirements
If you will use the "Print Tab to Kitchen" button to print finished Bar Tabs, you should also add an "All Tabs" button to allow a waiter or member of bar staff to find the finished Bar Tab that is to be printed.

Workflow
Click or touch the "Print Tab to Kitchen" button. The Bar Tab will be printed and a Kitchen Order created.

Notes
If a Bar Tab contains Items that are to be printed on different printers (e.g. food Items that are to be printed on the kitchen printer and drinks Items on the bar printer), documents will be printed on the various printers as appropriate. You can specify Printers in the POS Button rows that add "Item" and "Display Page" buttons to the Bar Tab window.

If you press the "Print Tab to Kitchen" button in a Bar Tab before you have saved the Bar Tab for the first time, the Bar Tab will be saved before it is printed.

If you need Kitchen Orders to be created but not printed, use the "Kitchen Order" button.

Print Tab to Receipt Printer

Function
Prints or reprints a Bar Tab on an Epson TM-U210 receipt printer.

Requirements
An Epson TM-U210 receipt printer must be connected to the till or device, and you must have entered a record in the Local Machine Serial Port Devices setting in the Technics module to connect the printer to the till or cash machine. Please refer here for more details.
If you will use the "Print Tab to Receipt Printer" button to reprint finished Bar Tabs, you should also add an "All Tabs" button to allow a waiter or member of bar staff to find the finished Bar Tab that is to be reprinted.

Workflow
  1. Save all changes to the Bar Tab.

  2. Click or touch the "Print Tab to Receipt Printer" button. The Bar Tab will be printed on the receipt printer.

Notes
If the Bar Tab is not printed, the probable reason is that you have not saved it (i.e. the window title is 'New' or 'Update').

The "Finish" and "Finish and Print" buttons will print Bar Tabs on receipt printers automatically.
