This page describes the Daily Statistics setting in the Hotel and Restaurant modules. This description focuses on its use in the Hotel module: please refer here if you need a description focusing on its use in the Restaurant module.

The Daily Statistics setting in the Restaurant and Hotel modules allows you to divide the working day into up to five time periods or shifts. This shift information will be used by the Restaurant Daily Statistics report and Export function and by the Per Shift option in the Restaurant Item Statistics report (all in the Restaurant module) and by the Daily Statistics report (in the Hotel module).

The Restaurant Daily Statistics report in the Restaurant module will only summarise daily sales made through Bar Tabs, with each day divided into time periods or shifts as defined in this setting. The 'Restaurant Daily Statistics' Export function in the Restaurant module and the Daily Statistics report in the Hotel module will also show this information, but in addition they will contain a second section showing statistics for daily room occupancy rates. If you are using the Hotel Interface (i.e. if you have selected the Hotel Interface option in the Optional Features setting in the System module), three extra fields will be added to the Daily Statistics setting that you can use to configure this second section:

Complimentary Rooms: Paste Special Room Packages setting, Hotel module; If you will use Reservations to let Rooms on a complimentary basis you should specify a dedicated Room Package in those Reservations. Specify the Package that you wish to use for this purpose here. Rooms that are let on a complimentary basis will be shown in a separate line in the Daily Statistics report.
Rooms to Staff: Paste Special Room Packages setting, Hotel module; Similarly, if you will use Reservations to let Rooms to staff, you should again use a dedicated Room Package. Specify that Package here. Rooms that are let to staff will be shown in a separate line in the Daily Statistics report.
Meeting Rooms: Paste Special Room Types setting, Hotel module; Specify here the Room Type that you will use in the Room records for Meeting Rooms. Reservations for Meeting Rooms will be shown in a separate line in the Daily Statistics report.

If you are not using the Restaurant module and do not need the section summarising daily sales made through Bar Tabs to be included in the Daily Statistics report, leave the five Comment and work shift period fields empty. This has been done for the illustration below.
