Text Types

This page describes the Text Types setting in the CRM module.

When you enter Activities, you can record notes and comments in the grid on the 'Text' card. If you define various standard texts in this setting, you can access them from the grid in the Activity record using 'Paste Special', reducing the typing load.

To open the Text Types setting, first ensure you are in the CRM module. Then, if you are using Windows or Mac OS X, click the [Settings] button in the Navigation Centre or use the Ctrl-S/⌘-S keyboard shortcuts and then double-click 'Text Types' in the 'Settings' list. If you are using iOS or Android, select 'Settings' from the Tools menu (with 'wrench' icon) and tap 'Text Types' in the 'Settings' list.

The 'Text Types: Browse' window opens, listing the available Text Types: to enter a new record, select 'New' from the Create menu (Windows/Mac OS X) or + menu (iOS/Android). The 'Text Type: New' window appears: enter the details as appropriate and click [Save] or tap √ to save the new record.

If you need particular Text Types always to be used in Activities in combination with a particular Activity Type, list those Text Types in a record in the Default Activity Text Codes setting and then assign that record to the Activity Type using the Def. Text Codes field.
