For example, when you approve an Invoice and send it to a Customer, a Nominal Ledger Transaction is created automatically to post amounts to the Sales, Debtor and VAT Accounts. Simultaneously, the Sales Ledger and all reports are updated. Similarly, when you receive a payment, you will update the Sales Ledger, and an automatic Nominal Ledger Transaction will update the Debtor Account and the Bank or Cash Account as appropriate. In general terms, a record that causes a Nominal Ledger Transaction to be created (e.g. an Invoice or stock movement of some kind) is usually referred to as a "sub system record" or "sub system transaction" in FirstOffice and in these web pages.
