The Price Register - The Quantity Dependent Prices Setting

The Quantity Dependent Prices setting in the Pricing module provides an alternative to the Price register. It allows the use of quantity discounts for each Item.

To create records in the Quantity Dependent Prices setting, first select the Qty Dep Values option in the Price List(s) concerned. Then, run the 'Calculate Price Lists' Maintenance function in the Pricing module. The quantity discounts should then be entered to each record manually.

In the example illustration, the price for Item 10101 will be as follows:

Quantity Sold	Unit Price
1	5.00
2	4.95
3-5	4.85
over 5	4.75

In the example, the Price column has been used to specify an absolute price for each quantity break. The Formula column could be used instead to calculate each price: use 'Paste Special' to enter the correct Price Formula.

Note that although records in the Quantity Dependent Prices setting are created by the 'Calculate Price Lists' function, they will not subsequently be updated by that function.
