If you switch on the Century check box, Books by HansaWorld will display the century digits in all dates. However, you do not have to type the extra two century digits: they will be added automatically. If you enter "100411" in a date field, it will be changed to "10-04-2011" when you leave the field, assuming "-" is the Date Separator. To open this setting, ensure you are in the System module and click the [Settings] button in the Master Control panel. Then, double-click 'Company Date and Numeric Format' in the 'Settings' list. Choose the date and number format options that you need. Then, to save changes and close the window, click the [Save] button. To close the window without saving changes, click the close box. In a single-user system, whenever you make a change in this setting, its effect will be immediate and universal. In a multi-user system, you can change the Company Date and Numeric Format setting from a client machine, but the changes will not take effect until you restart the server. You can set different date and numeric formats on a particular client machine, using the Client Date and Numeric Format setting in the User Settings module while working on that machine. These formats will be used on that machine irrespective of the Person logging in. Be sure to tick the Use Client Settings box before saving, to activate the setting. If a particular client machine has its own date and number formats, they will be used on screen and in reports. However, numbers and dates will be printed in documents using the formats chosen in the Company Date and Numeric Formats setting, to retain corporate identity. --- In this chapter:
