Project Quotation/Budget
This page describes the Project Quotation/Budget report in the Job Costing module.
---
The Project Quotation/Budget report has three options: it can be a list of Project Budget records, a list of Quotation records or a comparison between the two.
You can also produce a Project Quotation/Budget report for an individual Budget by opening the Project Budget in a record window and choosing 'Budget Report' from the Operations menu (Windows/macOS) or Tools menu (iOS/Android). This version of the Project Quotation/Budget report will be produced using the Budget and Detailed options.

If you enter a number of Classifications separated by plus signs (+), the report will list Budgets or Quotations with Customers featuring at least one of the Classifications entered. If you enter a Classification preceded by an exclamation mark (!), the report will list Budgets or Quotations with Customers featuring any Classification except the one entered.

- Function
- Use these options to control the level of detail that is to be shown in the report.
- Overview
- This version of the report will contain a single line for each Project Budget or Quotation, showing the Project Code and Description, total quantity, sales value, cost and gross profit.
- Detailed
- This uses a similar format to the Overview, but will list each Budget or Quotation row separately, sorted by cost type (time, purchases, materials and Stocked Items), with subtotals for each type.
By default, every Budget or Quotation row will be included in the report. Use the Specify (Detailed) options below if you only need rows in which a Person has or has not been specified to be included.
- Comparison
- This version of the report compares Budget and Quotation sales values on an Item-by-Item basis.
A Project will only be included in this version of the report if it has both a Budget and a Quotation, and both the Budget and the Quotation have dates that fall within the report period (or are undated).
- Specify
- If you are producing an Overview or Detailed report, use these options to specify whether the report should list Project Budgets or Quotations.
- Cost
- These options will only be used when you list Project Budgets in the report.
- Budget/Quotation
- All figures in the report will be taken from Project Budgets.
- Actual
- If a Project will be invoiced on an "As Budgeted" basis, the Qty and Sum will be taken from the Project Budget, while the Cost will be calculated from Project Transactions. If a Project will be invoiced on an "Actual" basis, the Qty, Sum and Cost will all be calculated from Project Transactions. For a Project Transaction to be included in the calculations, its Date must fall in the report period and the Item must be one that is listed in the Project Budget.
- Specify (Detailed)
- By default, the Detailed version of the report will include every Budget or Quotation row. Use these options if you only need rows in which a Person has or has not been specified to be included.
