This setting allows you to define various charge-out rates for each type of work that you will use in Time Sheets, Activities and Project Budgets. You can set different charge-out rates that depend on the group of employees that carries out the work.--- The Item/Job Group Prices setting is in the Job Costing module. To work with this setting, ensure you are in this module and open the 'Settings' list by clicking (Windows/macOS) or tapping (iOS/Android) the [Settings] button in the Navigation Centre. Double-click or tap 'Item/Job Group Prices' in the resulting list. The 'Item/Job Group Prices: Browse' window will be opened, listing Items with existing pricing structures. To enter a new record, select 'New' from the Create menu (Windows/macOS) or + menu (iOS/Android). The 'Item/Job Group Price: New' window will appear: enter the details as appropriate and click [Save] (Windows/macOS) or tap √ (iOS/Android) to save the new record. The grid allows you to set different prices for the Item, for different Job Groups. The columns represent Price Lists. You should define Price Lists numbered 1 to 6 in the Price List register in the Pricing module and then allocate them to each Customer individually or via Customer Categories. For example, referring to the illustration above, Customers with Price List 2 will be charged 14.00 per hour for work carried out by members of the "JUN" Job Group and 28.00 per hour for work carried out by members of the "SEN" Job Group. The Price List 1 column will be used for Customers with no Price List or Category, those whose Category has no Price List and those whose Price List is not numbered 1 to 6. All prices should be in your home Currency. These prices will be converted to the Currency of the Project when necessary. Use the Time Class column if you have different charge out rates for various kinds of work (e.g. standard rate, evening rate, etc.) and are managing them using Time Classes. As shown in the illustration below, for each Job Group you should enter separate rows with each Time Class. When you enter a Time Sheet and specify a Time Class on flip C, the price in the resulting Project Transaction(s) will be taken from the Item/Job Group Price row for the Job Group/Time Class combination. As shown in the illustration, it is usually recommended that you leave the Time Class blank in rows representing the standard rate, so that the Person filling in a Time Sheet or Activity will not need to specify a Time Class on most occasions.
