Operations Menu - Production Operation - Generate Serial No. for Out Items

This page describes the 'Generate Serial No. for Out Items' function on the Operations menu in the Production Operation record window. If you are using iOS or Android, the 'Generate Serial No. for Out Items' function is on the Tools menu (with 'wrench' icon).

The 'Generate Serial No. for Out Items' function can be useful when you assemble a large quantity of a Serial Numbered Item and you need to enter many consecutive Serial Numbers.

In a Production Operation containing a number of rows with Output Items, specify the lowest Serial Number for the first one. Then select the function: the remaining rows will gain a Serial Number, each incremented by one.

The Status of the Production Operation must be Created or Started, otherwise the function will not generate Serial Numbers.
