Visit Purposes

This page describes the Visit Purposes setting in the Hotel module.

---

A Visit Purpose is the reason why the Customer or Guest is visiting and staying at the hotel. You can record a Visit Purpose in each Reservation and Reservation Quotation. Use the Visit Purposes setting to construct a look-up table to be used when recording this information.

After entering Visit Purposes in this setting, you can optionally specify a Default Visit Purpose on the 'Defaults' card in the Hotel Settings setting. This default will be copied to each new Reservation. You can also make it mandatory that a Visit Purpose is specified in every Reservation, by selecting the Force Visit Purpose on Reservations option on the 'Guest' card in the same setting.

To open the Visit Purposes setting, first ensure you are in the Hotel module. Then, if you are using Windows or macOS, click the [Settings] button in the Navigation Centre or use the Ctrl-S/⌘-S keyboard shortcuts and then double-click 'Visit Purposes' in the 'Settings' list. If you are using iOS or Android, select 'Settings' from the Tools menu (with 'wrench' icon) and tap 'Visit Purposes' in the 'Settings' list. The 'Visit Purposes: Browse' window will open, listing the Visit Purposes that you have previously entered.
