Taking Responsibility for Repair Items

Once the Service Order has been saved, the operator can receive the Amplifier in to service stock. This signifies that it has passed in to the workshops and is now the company's responsibility. To do this, the operator selects 'Create Service Stock Transaction' from the Operations menu. This creates a record in the Service Stock Transaction register, which is opened in a new window:

The operator allocates responsibility for the Amplifier to a member of staff using the Employee field, and enters a quantity of one to the In Qty field in the grid. The In Qty field is used to signify that the Amplifier has been signed in (when it is returned to the Customer, a similar Service Stock Transaction with an Out Qty will be created to record that it has left the workshop). The operator then approves, saves and closes the Service Stock Transaction.
