Creating a StandardID and Resetting your StandardID Password
This page describes the various methods that you can use to create a StandardID.
---
You must have a StandardID to be able to log in to MyStandard, and every StandardID will have its own page within MyStandard. A StandardID should be a valid email address, and a StandardID password should contain at least eight characters.
You can create a StandardID using any of the following methods:
- Go to the MyStandard log-in page and press the [Register] button. Enter your Name and StandardID (email address) in the fields provided and press [Proceed]. A validation email will be sent to the email address that you have provided as your StandardID: follow the link in this mail to validate the address and to supply a password for the StandardID.
- Working in your Standard ERP system, enter a user's email address in the StandardID field in their Person record (or Global User record if they have one). When the user next logs in to your Standard ERP system, a validation email will be sent to the email address that you provided as the user's StandardID. The user should follow the link in this mail to validate the address and to supply a password for the StandardID.
- If a user does not have a StandardID and logs in to your Standard ERP system using their Signature and password, they will be asked to provide a valid email address that can be used as their StandardID. If the user provides an email address that is already a StandardID, they will be asked to enter their StandardID password. Otherwise, they will be asked to provide a new StandardID password.
If you are assigning a StandardID to an existing user, it is likely that they already have a password that they have been using to log in to your Standard ERP system. This password (known as the "database" password) is not the same as the StandardID password. If you are assigning a StandardID to a new user and you have just created their
Person or
Global User record (methods 2 and 3 above), it is likely that you assigned them a password using the
'Change Password' Operations menu function in the 'Persons: Browse' or 'Global Users: Browse' window. This password will again be a database password. If a user has both types of password, they will be able to log in to your Standard ERP system using either password, but they must use their StandardID password to log in to their MyStandard page. Note: you can only use the 'Change Password' function to assign a password to a Person or Global User who does not have a StandardID. So, assign a password before entering a StandardID in the Person or Global User record.
If you have forgotten your StandardID password or want to reset it, two options are available, go to the MyStandard log-in page and follow the 'Forgot Password' link. This will take you to the MyStandardreset password page. Enter your StandardID and press 'Submit'. An email will be sent to the StandardID email address. Follow the link in the email to change the password.
If you need any change of password to be confirmed using two-factor authentication, go to the 'My Account' section of your MyStandard portal and select the Use two factor password reset option. You will also need to specify a Recovery Phone number. You will also need to specify a Recovery Phone number. The next time you try to change your password, a code will be sent by SMS to the Recovery Phone number. After following the link in the email you will need to enter the code as well as the new password.
