The MyStandard Page - Create Backup command

This page describes the 'Create Backup' command in MyStandard.

---

You can use the 'Create Backup' command on the MyStandard page to create a text back-up file from your server database.

By default, the command will save back-up files in the folder containing your Standard ERP server application, If you need these back-up files to be stored somewhere else, specify the location in the Backup Path field in the Timed Operations setting in the Technics module in Standard ERP. It is recommended that you store them in the "Backup" folder in the folder containing the server application, so that they will be listed by the 'List of Backups' command. To achieve this, enter "Backup/" as the Backup Path in the Timed Operations setting.

To create a back-up from your server database, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to MyStandard. If you are already logged in, you may need to select 'Companies' in the main menu at the top of the window.

  2. If you have more than server, select the one you want to work with in the list on the left-hand side of the window.

  3. Stop the server if it is running. You can only create a back-up when the server has stopped.

  4. Press 'Create Backup'. This command will only be visible if you have Admin Access or Handle Backups/Down. Backups access to the server on MyStandard.

  5. The back-up file will be created and saved in the location that you have specified or, otherwise, in the folder containing the server application. The back-up file will be named "TB.TXT" (if you are using Data Security Plan level 1) or "TBYYMMDD.TXT" (if you are using Data Security Plan levels 2, 3 or 4). Any existing file with the required name will be overwritten.

On the MyStandard page, the Status will first change to "Exporting Backup", then "Running", then "Not running". The "Not running" Status signifies that the back-up file has been created and that the server is ready to be restarted.
